Beskrivning av organisationen

"DUHOVNO DRUŠTVO ZA DUŠO" is NGO, with its headquarters in the North West of Slovenia (Gorenjska) and an office in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Ljubljana is situated in central Slovenia and is the economic, geographical, cultural, scientific, political, and administrative center of Slovenia. It's the largest university town in Slovenia, therefore a lot of students live here from other places in Slovenia and other world countries. We have more than 70 members and we hold regular educational activities, such as seminars, courses, and workshops for all age groups as well as special student evenings with slide shows, in all major cities of Slovenia (in Ljubljana, Maribor, Nova Gorica, Kranj, and Celje). Apart from our regular activities, our Youth Department at the moment takes part in two international Youth in Action projects.

We place a high value on youth and adult education. We believe it is one of the most important investments and it is critical to reducing economic and spiritual poverty and inequality. One of our main aims is to make a genuine contribution to the learning and teaching process and to emphasize the importance of knowledge and education. We know that this means we have to continually improve the teaching techniques of our associates and to offer people a wide variety of learning opportunities.
The fundamental mission of our organization is to connect the wisdom of the ancient Indian philosophy with people in a way that this wisdom will bridge the gap between different sciences and arts and unite them in practical knowledge in all areas for the well-being of an individual. We do this by organizing
- lectures, workshops, seminars, congresses, round table discussions, and social events
- field trips and travels, vacations, and camps
- artistic and sports events
- international projects with European organizations with similar goals
There are two main priorities in our organization. A) youth and adult non-formal education in the area of healthy lifestyle, personal development and personal and professional coaching, anti-stress courses, healthy diet cooking classes, and B) organizing eco-soul oriented trips and holidays to traveling destinations around Europe and also Asia.

To achieve our aims, we organize a wide range of activities, programs, and events. Our workshops, lectures, and classes are open to everyone and we work closely with persons with fewer opportunities, migrants, different social subcultural groups, persons with special needs, minorities, and foreign students in Slovenia.
In the last two years, we've offered youth and adults more than 150 different learning opportunities and more than 30 travel opportunities connected with ecology our soul tourism, from Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) lectures and workshops to healthy diet presentations, personal development and workshops, and Wisdom of the East lectures.

Our main focus is on non-formal education. During the school year, we hold 26-29 educational activities per month, during the school year 2014/2015 there will be 42-48 activities held every month in the following cities: Ljubljana, Kranj, Celje, Maribor, Sevnica, Murska Sobota, Lendava, Novo Mesto, Vrhnika, Koper and Nova Gorica. The lectures, seminars, workshops are held mostly at public schools and youth centers.
We strongly believe that our work focuses on some of the main objectives and goals of the European Solidarity Corps program as the newly acquired skills of our volunteers will be validated in Youthpass and language certificate and disseminated within their sending organization and the local community. With the newly acquired knowledge and experience in mind, the volunteer will also have better chances in the employment market. We also promote intercultural experiences by engaging ourselves in working with various European organizations with similar goals and values; and we promote equity and inclusion by inviting individuals with fewer opportunities to join us for our projects.
