Beskrivelse af organisationen

The mission of Tallinn City's Board of Disabled People (TPIK) is to represent and protect the interests of disabled people on the local level in Tallinn. TPIK is an umbrella organisation for disabled people`s associations operating in Tallinn. At the present moment 23 associations are members of TPIK. Of the more than 36 600 disabled persons living in Tallinn, approximately 4600 persons/families are members of these associations. TPIK supports the activities of its member associations and organises cooperation with the Tallinn City Government, various city and state agencies, other non-profit organisations and private enterprises in order to create equal opportunities for disabled people in society and to raise the living quality of disabled people. We also manage the Tallinn City´s Disabled Peoples Activity Centre. In the centre every week there are many different activities for example yoga, table tennis, language groups and so on. Most of the activities are organised by volunteers with the help of the staff.
