Beskrivning av organisationen
Foundation Maarja Village was founded in 2001. Today we have more than 150 people, both with and without learning disability who live, work, study or receive rehabilitation services here. Since 2004 we have welcome more than 90 long-term volunteers from 15 different countries from all over the world.
Foundation Maarja Village is a competence centre for people with learning disability. Our aim is to support people with learning disability to become equal members of Estonian society. Our regular activities include:
- providing different supported living services;
- providing vocational training programmes (co-operation with local vocational training centres);
- providing several rehabilitation programmes;
- providing work-life services.
Our activities situate in different places. We have established Maarja Village, a home for 40 persons with learning disability in the rural area of South Estonia. Same time we have 2 living houses with 20 inhabitants in Tartu. We have different workshops and partners in the area of South Estonia included workshop building in Maarja Village and shop in the buziest supermarket in South Estonia.
