Hors Pistes is an organisation founded in 2013 and based in Marseille, in the south of France, working in the field of non-formal education. The organisation aims at :

// implement the methods of non-formal education in different contexts and towards various publics
// make visible and accessible the European mobility programs and to develop international projects
// promote the community as a way to learn, experiment collective intelligence, mutual listening and solidarity
// build links and bridges between different stakeholders in the society, in order to work collectively to meet the needs and expectations of the local communities, and to create a real impact at the local level

Throughout its activities, the organisation approaches principally thematics such as intercultural and linguistic learning, active participation and citizenship, ecology as well as personal and professional development, non-violent communication, cooperation and empowerment.

The values promoted by Hors Pistes are :

// Solidarity: to raise awareness of what happens around oneself, to get to know one other’s perspectives
// Emancipation: to raise awareness of one's situation, develop a critical mind and be open to variety of choices and opportunities
// Mutualisation: to pool values, actions, tools and skills, and learn from the others.
// Citizenship: to encourage the commitment of citizens to act, inform and question themselves on the political life of their city, their country or the world. Citizenship is acquired through a process, even if one is born a citizen (administratively), citizenship is built.
// Sharing: to give the opportunity to others to benefit from the resources at one's disposal and vice versa, in an altruistic sense and without expecting any compensation.
// Social inclusion: strategies, methods and tools adapted to the creation of activities accessible to people facing a risk of social exclusion

The organisation's target groups include:

// young people between 15 and 30 years old without distinction of educational level, skills or experience

// professionals and local volunteers in social, cultural and educational fields.

Nevertheless, the association promotes the diversity of cultures, ages, background and experiences and therefore many of its activities are open to any public.

Hors Pistes implements different educational projects on an international and local scale:

// European Solidarity Corps : Coordinating projects, sending and hosting volunteers in France and abroad since 2013 in different types of organisations (NGOs, cultural and social centers, schools, institutions).
// International internship program for job seekers from Marseille’s region
// Intercultural youth exchanges (hosting and sending)
// International training for professionals and volunteers
// Local “thematic” training courses open to all publics on different topics : graphic facilitation, intercultural dialogue, group dynamics, non-sexist language
// Tailor-made support for professionals in the development of international projects or pedagogical activities
// Educational interventions and tailor-made workshops for young people
// Social inclusion projects at the local level
// Linguistic projects

The team is currently composed of 9 employees, and 4 to 6 volunteers (in European Solidarity Corps or french Civic Service). Our network also gathers many local volunteers, active in the field of non-formal education.

The organisation is part of CAMI, the "Coordination of International Mobility Actors" which gathers 9 leading actors in Marseille’s region in the field of international mobility.

Hors Pistes and its activities focus on the development of opportunities for youth. An important part of our activities is to provide information to young people during different meetings and events all around the region.
