Beskrivelse af organisationen

Seurakuntaopisto (The Church Training College) is a private educational learning institution run by Kirkkopalvelut. Seurakuntaopisto has campus areas in Järvenpää, Pieksämäki, Ruokolahti, Lapua, Kaustinen and Uusikaarlepyy. We have app. 3263 annual students and app. 180 employees. Volunteers will work mainly in Pieksämäki campus. Address is Huvilakatu 31, 76130 Pieksämäki. The administrative center of Kirkkopalvelut ry is located in Järvenpää.
Seurakuntaopisto is specialized in social and health care education as well as in the guidance and education and some church professions. We also offer prepaparatory training and guidance as well as many long and short courses. Although being a main stream vocational college Seurakuntaopisto offers and develops educational services also for immigrants and people with special needs, for example “Arjen Suola” functional education and rehabilitation for people with disability and mental health clients. Study groups and short courses for participants with special needs are carried out with a help of instructors and personal assistants. We also organise leisure time activities for the students because many of them stay in our dormitory during their study weeks. Aim of our background organization Kirkkopalvelut is to build bridges beetween people, communities and church.
