Beskrivning av organisationen

The GeyserHaus is a socio-cultural center in the north of Leipzig. Its activities range from open and international youth work and youth culture work to music projects, a music school, work with senior citizens and a ceramics workshop to events such as concerts, readings and theater. The center is supported by the association of the same name and is a member of supra-regional associations or bodies such as the DPWV or the „Bundesvereinigung soziokultureller Zentren“ and also in local or regional associations or bodies such as the „Landesverband Soziokultur Sachsen“ or the „Arbeitsgemeinschaft Freier Träger“. The institution employs about 25 full-time- and voluntary staff. Projects of international youth work have been carried out regularly for several years, such as the European Voluntary Service or international youth encounters. With these projects, we have repeatedly succeeded in enriching our work with various intercultural aspects. The Open Children's and Youth Center at the „Parkbühne GeyserHaus“ is located in the north of Leipzig (Eutritsch, Gohlis Nord, Gohlis Mitte) and belongs to the planning area North. Children and young people aged 6-27 regardless of religion, gender, sexual preference, nationality, physical disabilities and financial resources can visit it. Our structural conditions and the offers should enable all children and adolescents to self-determination and stimulate equally social engagement.
