Beskrivning av organisationen

Mulhouse is the biggest city of Haut-Rhin sub-region in terms of population. Its urban area covers 286,730 inhabitants (40% of the Haut-Rhin population) and its employment area includes 431,337 inhabitants. “Archetype of the city made by migration flows” since the industrial revolution, it is a very cosmopolitan and cross-border city. More than a quarter of Mulhouse population’s is under 25 years old.
The municipality of Mulhouse, as the local authority, is in charge of the management and decentralized administration of the territory. Since 2018, the municipality youth policy is no longer limited to approaching the issue of youth from the historical approach, although fundamental, perspective of leisure and occupational activities and participation. These become tools for fostering citizenship and commitment building bridges between formal and non-formal education. Operationally, the youth approach translates concrete ambitions for each age group identified by the pathways:
- Citizen path from early childhood to majority
- Commitment to employment path for 13 - 25 years old
- Mobility path for 3 - 25 years old
- Leisure path for 3 - 17 years old
- Health path for 3 - 25 years old, in partnership with the local health program 2021-2026
This youth policy as a transversal approach is also complementary to sectorial policies which target young people as an age group, in the field of educational, sports or cultural sector.
