Beskrivelse af organisationen

Europe Direct Amiens Hauts-de-France (formerly known as Info-Point Europe Amiens Picardie) is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation funded in 1999 in Amiens, northern France. Labelled by the European Commission as an official Europe Direct Information Centre for 22 years, its main aim is to close the existing gap between the citizens of the Hauts-de-France region and the European Union. We offer a free information service in our documentation centre located in Amiens’ city centre, we raise awareness of the EU (institutions, policies, history, current events…) across the region through debates, conferences, fairs and other events and we go into schools, youth centres and various educational organisations to give talks and conduct games, workshops and competitions on a number of European topics (culture, history, geography, the environment…). We have also been a hosting organisation for European volunteers since 2002 and a sending organisation since 2016. A good way to bring Europe closer to citizens.
