The Polish Migration Forum Foundation (PFM) has been operating since 2007, supporting people with migration experience and supporting the building of intercultural competence in Poland. We are committed to building communities based on mutual understanding that can benefit from their diversity. The foundation's activities are comprehensive: we offer support in mental health, information, counselling and legal assistance, education, labour market. We work in two ways: we conduct direct activities and support the development of systemic solutions by conducting advocacy based on direct experience.
PFM provides free psychological and legal counselling, and casework services for people with the most complex needs, supports refugees and asylum seekers seeking refugee status to enter the Polish labor market, and builds local intercultural communities by engaging Polish and non-Polish volunteers. In addition, PFM supports children from migrant backgrounds in Polish schools and conducts intercultural education for children and young people. On the other hand, the Foundation builds the capacity of Polish public systems to integrate refugees and asylum seekers into local and national policies, and advocates for the inclusion of rights
to protection, education and health care in various legal frameworks. The approach also includes training for professionals, such as government officials, teachers, psychologists, and medical personnel, who work with refugees.
