Youth Organisation "SAKURA" (cherry blossom in Japanese language) is a local, non-governmental, independent, non-profit and apolitical organisation, which was established on May 04, 1990 in Bucharest - Romania.
FIELDS OF ACTIVITY: Youth Organisation "SAKURA" has four fields of activity: educational and sports, social and health, ecological, cultural and artistic. The activities focused on DEMOCRATION and HUMAN RIGHTS are the most important for our association. Our team started working in May 1990, the members of the association are mainly students.
Volunteers work on several fields of activity developed during our association and carry out projects in the 4 fields, namely: education, social, ecology, culture. The organisation has the following principles: freedom and democracy. Fight for the democratisation of the civil society in Romania, for human rights through the education of young people.
PURPOSE: The main purpose of the organisation is to develop, with the help of young people, programs for disadvantaged and isolated young people in order to develop and actively participate in the isolated communities of Ilfov.
The coordination team is working to create a legal framework in which young people can express their aspirations and thoughts that can be implemented in youth projects at European level.
TARGET GROUP are: all young people between 10 and 30 years old. Our association has a number of members that are grouped as follows: 131 young people and 15 specialists.
FINANCING: The organisation receives grants for its programs from European funding, but we also have internal and external donations, and can also receive sponsorship. Our team has 15 years experience in the insertion and training of young people. We have carried out a series of European projects that have promoted and implemented the active participation of young people. Our association works with disadvantaged young people from the beginning of its activity and supports them in their integration into society.
In our 20 years of experience, our team has worked on over 51 European projects. Our team coordinated and trained a total of 4,320 young people through the implementation of a large range of European projects, some of them also managed to set up new youth associations and to make successful European projects.
