Opis organizacije

YAP - Youth Action for Peace (www.yap.it), founded in the 1970, organises and realises international short term voluntary projects (workcamps), seminars, training courses for intercultural youth animators, mid-term and long term voluntary projects.
YAP is full member of the global networks engaged in the field of International Voluntary Service (IVS):
• CCIVS - Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (http://ccivs.org/)
• ALLIANCE of European Voluntary Service Organisations (http://www.alliance-network.eu/)
The central activity of the association involves the exchanging of volunteers between different countries.
YAP host international volunteers in the projects organized in Italy and send Italian volunteers in the projects organized by our international partners worldwide.
Each year, thousands of young people take part in workcamps, (short-term voluntary service projects), in order to support local activities on peace, justice, social action, community development and environmental protection.
Its structure is based on a voluntary involvement of more than 500 members each year, a network of local groups in Italy and partner associations worldwide.
Added to the voluntary action in the territory, the association implements activities of centralized and decentralized information, communication and education of the youth to citizenship and the European dimension.
The association also contributes to the involvement and sending of socially, culturally or economically disadvantaged youth and young people at risk to itineraries of non formal education aimed at stimulating their personal growth capacities inside the community.
Since more than 50 years YAP works in the international voluntary service in order to carry out projects and activities that contribute to the development of peoples in solidarity through education to peace and intercultural learning.
