Beskrivelse af organisationen

The Sdružení Ackermann-Gemeinde (further SAG) is a non-profit association that, out of Christian responsibility and in awareness of centuries of common history, works for the reconciliation and the preservation of the knowledge of the common culture of the Czech Republic and Germany, as well as a successful common future. Since our focus is on German-Czech relations, we use the German language in the office. During the year, we speak both German and Czech together to improve each other's language skills.

The Sdružení Ackermann-Gemeinde manages the following activities to achieve its goals:
• The employees work in the areas of morality, religion, culture, social and civil according to the association's mission statement
• It organizes lectures, panel discussions, specialist seminars and colloquia, national and international conferences, congresses, and symposia
• SAG is active across borders in the cultural, educational, and social sectors
• The SAG works with young people and creates conditions for meetings and dialogue
• The information leaflet "Informační List", as well as other publications and books are regularly published
• For new approaches, the SAG cooperates with similarly oriented organizations and institutions

We work very closely with our sister organization Ackermann-Gemeinde e.V., as well as with our youth associations Spirála Sdružení Ackermann-Gemeinde (further Spirála SAG) and Junge Aktion of the Ackermann-Gemeinde, which organize international meetings for children aged 8 to 15 and young people aged 15 to 26 from Central Europe.

During the year, the SAG and Spirála SAG offer regularly the following events:

1) German-Czech conference with political-cultural themes and other projects connected with the theme of the conference - planned for members and interested parties within the organization as well as for the general public
2) Exhibition "Witnesses for Humanity" with the subtitle "Christian Sudeten German Resistance 1938-1945" shows the fate of ten people from the Christian environment who spoke out against National Socialism. The new project "Educational Programme for Schools and Grammar Schools" is closely linked to this project.
3) Interactive project "Němčina online", organized by native speakers, for high schools
4) Spirála SAG Autumn&Spring Meeting - meetings with various themes, organized for youth and young adults from Central Europe
5) Spirála SAG Summer School - planned for young interested people and youth aged 15 to 26 with a focus on the German and Czech language

The events and activities of our organization are an offer for everyone who is interested in Central Europe, current cultural/political topics as well as in history and a peaceful Europe. We offer activities for all generations, crossing national borders - without prejudice or a linguistic/cultural barrier and with mutual understanding. We organize further events in close cooperation with our German partner organization. This gives the volunteer the opportunity to decide independently which activities and events he/she wants to be active in and which goals he/she wants to focus on during the year (youth projects/conference/discussions etc.).
