Action for Wildlife is an organization that is dedicated to the care and treatment of wild animals and to raise environmental awareness. The organization runs a wildlife hospital which receives any kind of wild animal that will found wounded, sick or orphan in order to treat and release it back to nature. The main goal is to educate and train as many people as possible so as to help at the protection of the wildlife and the retain of the biodiversity worldwide.
Internationally, the need for training and involvement of more people in this work is crucial. This is the main objective and motivation of the organization to take part at European solidarity corps, to spread the knowledge about the wildlife care and to train young people on this, to develop their skills as well as to achieve international collaborations in environmental issues.
Also an important goal for the organization is to educate young people so as to protect the environment and the wildlife and reduce the amount of animals coming in the hospital due to anthropogenic reasons.
Our main activities are:
-Rescue of exhausted or trapped wild animals.
-Care, treat and rehabilitate the exhausted, sick or orphan wild animals that arrive to our hospital in order to return at their natural environment.
-Raise enviromental awareness of all the citizens especially youth and children for the protection of wildlife through environmental games, presentations and other actions.
-Participate at events or acts for the retain of the biodiversity such us cleaning of protected areas, monitoring areas, nests etc.
-Last but not least train people, students and youth volunteers how to take care a wild animal in need, give first aid or even given skills to work in a wild animal hospital, knowledge that probably they cannot receive during their studies. As a result our target groups are all people, simple citizens, people working in forest management, fireman, vets,
biologists, teachers or other related jobs, students of related universities but also any kind of student, youth and children that is important to learn about the protection of the environment.
