Beskrivelse af organisationen

Children`s Friends Society is an organization that has been active in the field of social assistance and help for over 100 years. It has departments in many regions in Poland. The main fields of our activity includes:
- activities for the benefit of the family, motherhood, parenthood, integration between generations, promotion and protection of children's rights;
- social assistance aimed at families and people bringing up children who are in a difficult life situation;
- science, education, upbringing children and youth;
- leisure time of children and adolescents and their guardians, promotion of sport and tourism;

Our Department, in Krakow is cooperating with the public administration and leads: 12 Daily Care Centres for children and youth, Adoption Center in Krakow, with Branch in Tarnow,  Kindergarten with Integration Units, Psychological and Educational Support Centre for Early Child Development, Children “Holiday House” in Rajcza (Beskid Mountains), Therapy Workshops.

The main goals of our organization are focused on children, their quality of life, their broad development, health, security, self-respect and equal opportunities. All of our centres have common aims such as: raising happy, self-conscious members of society, expanding the pupils' knowledge in the every plain of life and supporting their families and parenting skills.

Children`s Friends Society would like to host volunteers in the frames of European Solidarity Corps program in our 9 Daily Care Centres in Krakow. The centers are intended for children and youth aged 6 to 18. In the school year, they are open in the afternoons and focus on the implementation of educational activities, local tourist and sports activities, providing various forms of spending leisure time (music, dance, manual, theatre, language workshops), cooking together. During the winter and summer holidays, the institutions work in the morning, organizing various forms of recreation in the city and outside the city (winter and summer camps).

Our institutions are very involved in the network of local connections and cooperate with many institutions, private persons, and implement various projects to ensure the widest possible development of our pupils and support their families.
