Beskrivelse af organisationen

Lomma municipality is located in southern Sweden and has approximately 24,000 inhabitants and consists of two towns, Lomma and Bjärred. Art culture-and leisuredepartment in Lomma municipality supports and encourages especially sports, cultural happenings and other social activities targeted at children, adolescents and adults. One of the targets is to stimulate people to be more physical and cultural active and to use Lommas public space for spontaneous exercise. All our functions are characterized by major environmental responsibility Lomma municipality is a member of KEKS a network for the development of quality and competence in the field of cultural and leisure activities for young people. The Network KEKS is the leading organisation for competence building in Sweden and is also playing an important role on a European level by being part of the EU-commission expert group on Youth work. In Lomma and Bjärred we have 9 youth centers/clubs. The aim of the clubs and centers is to be drug free meeting points for children and adolescents in the age group of 10-18. The activities at the youth centers span over all types of leisure activities and are variable from day to day depending of what the youngsters want to do. Besides the youth clubs we also work in schools, and other arenas where we can be more accessible to the youngsters. All activities involve or are on initiative of the visitors. The staff has a coaching or supportive role. All Youth centers and clubs have a clear goal to be inclusive and accessible to everyone regardless of gender identity or expression, ethnicity, religion or other belief, disability, sexual orientation or age.
