Escola Inglesa, Escola de Línguas, Lda, is a language school founded in 1990, in S. João da Madeira, an industrial town near Oporto, recognised by the Portuguese Ministry of Education – Permanent License – Autorização Definitiva Nº5/92 – and Accredited by DGERT – Direção Geral do Emprego e das Relações de Trabalho – specialized in teaching English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese as a foreign language.
Our main business is language courses but our mission is the development of the character of youngsters and development of skills in the local society, namely in communication and educational issues both at local and international levels for the promotion of career prospects and success. Multiculturalism has always been a prior objective.
By promoting an active participation among young people in social issues we give them the chance to participate in different social and educational programs, and to share their experience, to have an opportunity for professional growth and self-discovery .
Therefore , along with our business objective, we have always been involved in social projects promoting inclusion in our community. We have central and special connections with the Municipality, associations, companies and schools of all levels.
We have taken part in different projects with them and believe we can continue to do that, contributing for the general local community welfare.
Because of our area of business we have special connections with different foreign organizations that can help us developing the projects mentioned before.

Our regular activities are:
• Language courses (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese for foreigners) - students from the age of 7 to 50
o at school: (120 students) – 16 classes
o In local companies and schools – 24 courses
• Programmes abroad (240 in 2018): Summer courses, mini stays; internships, refresher/development courses for teachers
• Workshops at school and abroad
• Participation in European projects
