Fondatsiya za regionalno razvitie (in English - Regional Development Foundation) is non-profit organization, established for the benefit of the general public in 2000. It is headquartered in the town of Vidin, Bulgaria, but has also branch in Sofia.The main objectives of the organization are to support the development and the promotion of moral values, civil society, education, science and culture and to help for the development of disadvantaged regions in Bulgaria. To achieve its objectives, the Foundation cooperates with various target groups such as mass media, business representatives, civil society organizations, educational establishments, local citizens, including many young people, state and regional authorities etc. The Foundation has number of initiatives, in this number: 1) Training and education activities; 2) Information and communication of the EU priorities, policies and programmes at national, regional and local level; 3) Social and volunteer work and activities promoting social inclusion in the most disadvantaged regions and rural areas; 4) Organization of media and communication campaings; 5) Publishing books, elaboration of documentary films, video ads etc.; 6) Organization of events (conferences, seminars, round table discussions, training courses and workshops etc.) both at national and international level, to promote the EU policies, priorities, programmes and funding opportunities.
The Foundation runs the Information Centre of the European Union and Europe Direct Information centre-Vidin (EDIC-Vidin).
