Beskrivelse af organisationen

“Centro Sociocultural Aurelio Aguirre de Conxo”, belongs to the network of civic centers of the City Hall of Santiago. It is a meeting space in which municipal programs of sociocultural action converge together with those proposed by neighbors, associations, etc ... In its facilities we can find an office area, press and magazines room, games space, reading space, new technologies room and different multiple tasks room.

We develop activities for children, (games, reading animation, crafts, languages, workshops ...) and youth, (chess, table tennis, languages, dance, sports ... also two pre-teenagers and young groups who have an annual project), and adults (photography, painting, ballroom dancing, languages, yoga, dance and traditional dances ...), in addition to other open activities such as exhibitions, video, etc., or the ones perform during local and national holidays, (magosto- pumpkins feast-, Christmas, Carnival, San Juan ...).

We believe that the cultural baggage, the different perspectives and ways of working that a young European person could contribute would be really interesting for the different target groups; seniors, adults, youth and children; and it could greatly enrich the work of the socio-cultural center. For all these reasons, we believe it would be interesting to offer volunteers the possibility of participating in the projects and activities of the center, so that after knowing the general functioning, they will gradually determine which proposals are best suited to their abilities and tastes, and over time can contribute to projects that are of their liking and adapt to their preferences, taking into account the needs of the center.



El Centro Sociocultural Aurelio Aguirre de Conxo, pertenece a la red de centros cívicos del Ayuntamiento de Santiago. Se trata de un espacio de encuentro en el que convergen programas municipales de acción sociocultural junto con aquellas propuestas de vecinos y vecinas, asociaciones, etc… Dentro de sus instalaciones podemos hablar de una zona de oficinas, sala de prensa y revistas, espacio de juegos, espacio de lectura, sala de nuevas tecnologías, y distintas salas para escenario y usos múltiples.

En el se desarrollan actividades para niños, (juegos, animación a la lectura, manualidades, idiomas, talleres... ) y jóvenes, (ajedrez, tenis de mesa, idiomas, danza, deportes... además de dos grupos de pre-adolescentes y jóvenes que cuentan con un proyecto anual), y adultos, (fotografía, pintura, bailes de salón, idiomas, yoga, danza y bailes tradicionales...), además de otras actividades abiertas como exposiciones, vídeo, etc , o realizadas con motivo de fiestas locales y nacionales, (Fiesta de las calabazas-magosto, Navidad, Carnaval, San Juan...).

Creemos que el bagaje cultural, las diferentes perspectivas y formas de trabajar que podría aportar una persona joven europea sería realmente interesante para los diferentes colectivos destinatarios; tercera edad, adultos, jóvenes y niños; y podría enriquecer enormemente el trabajo del centro socio cultural. Por todo ello, creemos que sería interesante ofrecer a los voluntarios la posibilidad de participar en los proyectos y en las actividades del centro, para que tras el conocimiento del funcionamiento general, poco a poco ellos mismos vayan determinando que propuestas se adaptan más a sus capacidades y gustos, y con el tiempo puedan contribuir en los proyectos que sean de su gusto y se adapten a sus preferencias, teniendo en cuenta las necesidades del centro.
