Beskrivelse af organisationen

The Prestranek Elementary School has a long history since it was founded in 1953. The school consists of two units; 9 grades of primary school and 4 sections of kindergarten. Starting in kindergarten, the children can proceed into primary school. The children can also participate in after-school classes.

The long-term goals of the Prestranek Elementary School are:
1. Gaining recognition in the local and wider environment through different projects which connect the school with the local (and wider) community.
2. Establishing the optimal development of children and their integration into the community through professional and responsible work.

In addition to educational content, our priorities are:
1. Promoting a healthy lifestyle through education and by ensuring and promoting healthy eating habits, exercise and sports activities.
2. Creating tolerant and respectful relationships between students as well as teachers, other employees and the entire community.
3. Strengthening relationships between teachers, students and parents. We wish to include parents in organizing events and projects.

In addition to the regular educational programme, we also organize different activities such as camps, afternoon activities and various projects.

In order to enrich the lessons and extracurricular activities we cooperate with local communities, the Municipality of Postojna, other educational institutions, health and cultural institutions and other institutions in the immediate and wider area.
