MISSION
Mundekulla is an ecological retreat and course center in Southern Sweden. Our mission is to empower people to make a positive change in society towards more sustainable living, personal development, creativity and leadership. Many people are searching for practical and intellectual knowledge and skills for new ways of working and living more sustainable and community driven. Mundekulla is a sustainable platform where we can meet to learn from each other, knowledgeable teachers and be inspired by the sustainable foundation of the Mundekulla itself.

THE FOUNDATION
Mundekulla is founded on three visions:

The first vision is to revive the countryside and nature in the abandoned southern parts of Småland. The area where Mundekulla started is one of the places where more than 50% of the local population left during the big migration and the area never truly came back from that. Long before Mundekulla became a company in 2012, it started in 1998 as a landsbygd and sustainability project through renovating old abandoned buildings in historical and ecological ways. The aim is to show people the value and importance of nature, silence and countryside.

The second vision is to create a place of inspiration for people where they can see and experience: living in balance and harmony with the environment is possible. Mundekulla does this by choosing organic, vegetarian and sustainable ways of working before it was widely appreciated. We promote sustainable living through sustainable building methods, recycling and compost toilets. Mundekulla installed the first big solar energy in the area. In 2018 we started with the preparations for growing organic vegetables by building a greenhouse from recycled materials.

The third vision is to contribute to an international community of solidarity and peace. For this Mundekulla has always organized its own events as well as attracted leaders, gatherings, volunteers and artists from all over the world who contribute to these goals with their own expertise. Many big and small names have passed in the areas of personal leadership, kindness, sustainability, yoga, mindfulness, #metoo, burnout, climate change, courage, creative expression, solidarity between men, non-violent communication, and so on.

OUR TARGET GROUPS
Mundekulla wants to provide an inspiring hub where people and organizations can retreat from their daily activities to reflect, connect with others, learn on new topics and then to bring that back to their homes, work places and communities. We host events on national, Nordic and European level.

OUR PRINCIPLES
TRANSFORMATIONAL MEETINGS
Mundekulla brings people together and aims to create transformational meetings. We challenge people to bring out the best in themselves and each other. Our courses and retreats encourage sustainable living, personal development, societal change and community.

SUSTAINABILITY
We want our activities to be in harmony with the environment. We aim to make this little piece of land a little more beautiful and balanced than when we first came here. We do this in many ways. We want to let people experience that it is possible, it can be fun and that you can do a lot with a little.

CULTURE AND CREATIVITY
Mundekulla is a place where creative and cultural projects blossom. Music, choir singing, storytelling, dance, visual arts, poetry. Creating and sharing music and other artistic expressions is a way to share knowledge and bring people together, from different backgrounds all over the world.

NO DOGMA’S, BUT MANY PATHS
We are inspired by many different viewpoints and directions. We bring science, culture, wisdom traditions and different perspectives from all over the world together. We invite people to think for themselves and to ask new interesting questions.

OUR ACTIVITIES
