Ljutomer Youth Council is the central association of youth structures in the local community of Ljutomer. The Youth Council was established in 2003 and is one of the first local youth councils established and registered in the Republic of Slovenia. Within the Ljutomer Youth Council, we defend the interests of young people and encourage them to develop their potential. We encourage young people to organize workshops and activities to encourage critical thinking. We connect young people and enable them to connect locally, nationally and internationally. We support organizations, young people, volunteers and youth workers. This year, as a partner organization, we worked with the Prlekija Youth Center on the Erasmus + Let's Go Green project. It is important to us that the Ljutomer Community is a youth-friendly community that recognizes and takes into account the interests of young people, which includes and gradually improves their lives. We are actively working on the following projects:
- youth strategy,
- youth list,
- Pomurje Multigenerational Center, Ljutomer Unit,
- youth workers in the youth sector.
The Multi-Generation Center provides various prevention programs and activities in the field of intergenerational and intercultural integration and cooperation. In our premises we provide socializing, knowledge transfer and active learning in all stages of life and situations. The program maintains and enhances people's quality of life and inclusion in the social environment, provides them with support and assistance in their daily lives, and prevents loneliness and exclusion. The multi-generational center program has a significant impact on the level of social inclusion in the region, especially for older and long-term unemployed people who still want to be useful members of society. Content and activities of the project Multi-Generation Center:
- Intergenerational workshops in different fields, such as active and health care workshops, various creative workshops, culinary workshops, hand skills workshops, computer workshops, various lectures, foreign language learning, yoga and exercise for different groups, herbal workshops, workshops on healthy lifestyles, workshops for improving social skills, we provide learning assistance to children, holiday camps for children, self-help groups, informal socializing and meeting, informed, education and awareness in the field of social distress prevention.
The multi-generational center program is free of charge and is intended for:
- people who see the opportunity in the program for themselves or wish to co-create the program,
- low-intensity families and individuals,
- persons at risk of social exclusion, in particular children and young people,
- the elderly, especially those from socially disadvantaged backgrounds,
- to families who wish to improve their parenting competences,
- children and young people with special needs,
- migrants and refugees, especially families and children and young people from these families,
- Roma families, especially children and young people from these families,
- single parent families
- disabled persons.
