Public Kindergarten No 151 is located in a very pleasant, green part of Sadyba district in Warsaw. The building is surrounded by elegant villas and single-family houses. Some of them were built in the XX century. In the evenings, nostalgic atmosphere is enhanced by real gas lanterns on the streets – the last such lanterns in Warsaw. The kindergarten itself looks like one of nearby family houses. It has a sloping roof covered with red tiles and a spacious playground at the back.
There are currently 120 children in the facility. The kindergarten is focused on well-being and development of attending children. The main concept is to look after children in order to provide them with a sense of security, to activate them with methods based on creative tasks, learning and experimentation. They are encouraged to develop their artistic abilities, compassion for others, their self-respect. Children are supported in their own projects – allowed to perform something in their own way and they are also encouraged to cross their limits. The process of supporting children`s education and development is organised in learning-friendly manner. Children acquire knowledge and skills specified in core curriculum. Teachers use activating and individual methods, stimuli and provoke to action. Social norms are fully respected in our kindergarten. Children are taught how to recognise their emotions and to control them. They are full members of a pre-school community, they know their rights and responsibilities. Children participate in the kindergarten life and everyday decisions, they can contribute their own ideas, intentions, expectations.
The kindergarten supports the development of children taking int account their individual situation. The activities are carried out to equalize educational opportunities. They are adapted to the possibilities and development needs of the children.
