Youth services in the City of Oulu aims to aid the fulfillment of children’s and young people’s rights and equality. This is carried out by increasing children’s and young people’s participation and means of influencing, by supporting their growth and gain of independence along with communality and learning of skills related to these. The basis of activities is to support growth that enhances respect and integrity of human dignity and environment.
The goal is that children and young people grow up to be responsible cosmopolitans taking care of their own lives, other people and their environment. They have healthy lifestyles and the possibility and ability to influence and participate their own and societal affairs. Children and young people are involved in planning, carrying out and evaluating youth services
