The Association “Ogrody Teatru” was founded in 2001 in Katowice and unites people with various interests and professions. They all share one common goal: to create a theatre. This group consists of alternative theatre actors, historians, musicians, professional actors and other talented people who are useful in the work of the association and theatre. The theatre's programme includes open-air performances, theatre stage productions and performances for children.
The group is made up of people with different roots and artistic experiences. At present, the group is made up of: professional actors, alternative theatre actors, students of directing studies, visual artists, dancers, acrobats, and many others who are actively involved in the association and theatre.

The main objectives are contained in the statutes established by the members of the association, and their main ideas are to create favourable conditions for creative work in the broad field of culture and to involve various creative environments in artistic cooperation in the field of theatre and music. Moreover, with the support of municipal and governmental institutions, the organization of artistic and social projects aimed at disadvantaged and socially excluded groups.

The Association is a place where community and civic involvement is built. By performing on domestic and foreign stages and promoting certain humanistic values, attitudes and ideas, the Association encourages participation in the democratic life of Europe, civic activity and intercultural dialogue.

In addition, the Association's headquarters conducts acting classes in the broad terms, i.e. working with the body, elements of dance theatre, working with text, etc. Experience in conducting animation and games for children also requires skills such as: juggling with various objects, free walking on stilts, initiating and conducting sports and theatre games with the use of various equipment. There are also art classes where a professional visual artist introduces participants to the secrets of design and performance work, as well as to the stages of creating fancy theatrical costumes and puppets for performances and necessary props.
The range of activities of the members of the association is very wide and rich, which gives interesting opportunities for further artistic and social work with the participation of volunteers.

The material resources of the Association “Ogrody Teatru” in Katowice are:

- a theatre room with technical facilities for rehearsals: full stage lighting and sound equipment - also mobile due to numerous open-air presentations, a darkened room, an auditorium with about 120 seats.

- Fully equipped warehouse of costumes and handy props and equipment needed for animation and activities with children and young people: several pairs of stilts, sports equipment for games, etc. We have a series of historical, colourful, fancy and original costumes, which are selected for the needs of activities and people.

- Social and office facilities: a small office space fulfills organizational functions, the foyer is a meeting place for the team, but also a place for lighter technical and artistic work. On clear days, work and activities can take place in the area around the facility, i.e. on the old platform, which currently serves as a parking lot.
- a separate workshop place for the production of scenery and props, equipped with the necessary equipment and tools to perform heavier technical work

- association's own resources: small materials left over from the association's previous productions: wood, steel, fabrics, paints, adhesives.

The organization has experience in cooperation with public administration and has benefited from public grants, e.g. in 2016 the Association obtained a grant for the purchase of lighting and sound equipment under the Operational Programmes of the Ministry of Culture, which improved the technical quality of the implemented projects.

Moreover, the organization finances its undertakings also without the participation of public funds, thus many performances were created, e.g:
"Lustro - Hieronim Bosch" written and directed by Cezary Kruszyna (outdoor performance);
“Kuglarze” written and directed by Maciej Nogieć (open-air performance);
"Miłość Fredry" by Sarah Kane, directed by Robert Talarczyk;
"Bajkomat" written and directed by Anna Kandziora.
