Beskrivelse af organisationen
Fundación Trenca is a non-profit organization that wants to contribute to improve the state of nature, specially of those species that are threatened, spread the awareness and respect for nature and improve the knowledge about nature conservation and the relationship with humans. This organisation was created in 1998 with the aim of getting together the efforts of people that had a common interest in preserving and improving the natural patrimony. The name of the foundation “Trenca” is the common Catalan name of a critically endangered bird in the Iberian Peninsula: the Lesser grey shrike (Lanius minor).
Our main objectives are to spread awareness and respect for nature and improve the relationship of human beings with the natural world, through development, cooperation, conservation and recovery of local wildlife, specially the most threatened species.
Our activities are mainly actions and projects developed around the aims of conservation and recovery mentioned before. We carry out projects to reintroduce wildlife into the wild (black vulture and the mediterranean tortoise) and we protect endangered species and habitats (Lesser grey shrike, European Polecat). Furthermore, environmental education is another of our key elements that we consider basic to achieve a human development matching with environmental conservation.
Our target groups are children, young people and adults that are interested in nature conservation and that want to learn how to help nature and wildlife.
