Beskrivning av organisationen

Saariston Savotta ry (a non-profit organisation) acts as a grassroots problem solver in Livonsaari. Livonsaari is an island located in the Archipelago Sea, 25 kilometers by road from the nearest town in the southwestern Finland. The aim of the association is to bring life to the island with culture, improve wellbeing of the residents, boost employment and spread knowledge and skills on sustainable lifestyle. All four seasons and the growing season are present in the operation. Main activities include sharing and joint usage of resources, an allotment and events which bring people together for a reason or another. These include evenings for the youth three times each week, harvest festivals and events focused on sustainable lifestyle.

The actors of the association consist of the residents and visitors of the island and other people who are interested in the association.

Since the association actively solves problems present in the island, the operation is alike to the people doing the work every year.
