Kaunas kindergarten „Žilvitis“ is an institution providing early and preschool education for children from 1,5 to 7 years old. There 205 children can be educated at the school; for this moment, there are 198 children. The school is public under the establishment of Kaunas municipality. The non-profit kindergarten "Zilvitis" was established in 1998 in the district of Aukstieji Sanciai in Kaunas, Lithuania. „Zilvitis“ has developed an educational model where individual differences are respected and valued and every child has equal opportunities to develop a unique personality without being limited by stereotyped expectations. Children's family members receive counseling and are encouraged to be involved in children‘s education and other activities of the "Zilvitis" community. The activities of „Zilvitis“ are open to all children and include children with different interests and abilities from a variety of socioeconomic, religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. The main target groups are children from 1,5 to 7 years old (198 children) and teachers (17 teachers). The primary purpose of the school is to provide education and care for preschoolers. The main activities are educational games, STEAM activities, drama, and learning through experience. The school is active in the Erasmus program: Small-scale partnerships in school education (from 2022-2024); applied for Erasmus accreditation as a leading school of consortium (2022). The school implements the NordPlus project (2022).
