The House of Europe and Europeans (MDEE01) was created to promote the European citizenship in the department of Ain, in 2016. Its members, convinced by the importance of European values, defend the European idea on their territories. Our organisation aims to be a relay of proximity between the residents of the department and the European institutions. It is a privileged place of initiatives, actions, meetings, documentation. It defends and promotes the values on which the European Union has been built. It also strives to make visible the projects supported by European funds in our department.
To achieve its aims, MDEE01 organises different activities with different partners and target groups. Situated in the heart of the department, it acts as a European centre for all, providing documents and information and renting books and exhibitions. MDEE01 also proposes different activities for schools and other civil society organisations: master classes on different aspects of European citizenship and on international mobility for young people. In addition, MDEE01 organises events for the general public to raise awareness about the European Union, its impact on our everyday life, for example, conferences and festivities. We can also provide help and guidance to individuals and organisations in funding local European projects.
