The Friedenstein Stiftung Gotha looks after one of the largest museum locations in Central Germany: It combines a unique architectural ensemble (including Friedenstein Castle and the Ducal Museum) with a unique collection: a universal collection with over 1.1 million objects which sprouted from the cabinet of curiosities which the Dukes of Sachsen-Gotha had brought together. We have a good number of visitors and highly diverse cultural activities, and play an important social role in the town and region. With over 80 employees, we have a very mixed group, some local, some from very far away. This diversity mirrors in our tasks: from restoration to events, from hosting a local club house to going digital in any way opne can imagine. PS: we are called "Frieden-Stein", thriving towards peace is a corner stone of our work, already for centuries.
