Horizons for the Development is an association that aims to promote social and educational development in rural communities, mainly in the province of Sidi Ifni (Morocco), in the community of Tioughza, by creating opportunities for learning, participation and improving quality of life. In this area, there are various shortcomings among the local population like difficulties in accessing healthcare, hygiene problems, scarce educational resources, lack of training programmes, poor public transport connections with other centres. Social and educational professionals agreed to create a community development association focused on building actions aimed at the local population and led by the local population itself. Our main objectives are: -To promote training for the local population. -To promote equal opportunities, especially for women, girls and vulnerable groups. -To promote community development through cultural, sporting and social activities. -To contribute to the improvement of local infrastructure, access to water and renewable energy. The association's activities include literacy workshops and practical training, school support, the organisation of cultural and sporting activities as well as cooperation projects in collaboration with international entities. Our target groups are mainly young people, women and children in rural areas, with small groups established. Also, adults and older people benefit from our initiatives. The approach is mainly individualized.
