Opis organizacije

The Gustav Stresemann Institute in Lower Saxony (GSI) is a private, non-denominational, non-partisan adult education centre recognised under Lower Saxony's Adult Education Act, which is funded by federal and state agencies. We offer over 200 seminars annually, some in cooperation with other institutions. Seven full-time educators and over 100 guest speakers ensure that our guests receive professionally competent and pedagogically experienced support. The Gustav Stresemann Institute was founded on the vision of a reconciled and united Europe. The aim of our educational institution is to strengthen political and social responsibility, to think beyond the nation state and to promote European unity and international cooperation. We have remained true to this tradition to this day. Within the framework of adult education, we want to continue to provide impetus for social thought and action. We want to encourage critical engagement with the issues of our time and offer seminars on political education. In our work, we address as many social groups as possible. As an independent educational institution, we are not affiliated with any church, political party or other ideological organisation. This allows us to open our doors to all individuals and organisations that recognise democratic values and human rights.
