Beskrivning av organisationen

The Associació Valenciana de Circ (AVC) is a non-profit organisation based in Alboraia (Valencia, Spain), founded in 2003. Its mission is to promote circus as a form of artistic expression, social transformation and community building. Our main space, Espai de Circ, is a self-managed, multifunctional venue run collectively by over 400 members. It hosts regular circus classes, open training, creative residencies and cultural events. The space is open to professional artists, local youth, families, and people from vulnerable backgrounds, offering a space to learn, share and grow together. AVC promotes inclusion through social circus projects with children and young people at risk, aerial therapy sessions with people with cerebral palsy (in collaboration with AVAPACE), and the annual QueerCirc festival, a celebration of diversity and empowerment for LGBTQIA+ artists. More than just a training centre, Espai de Circ is a community hub—a space where people collaborate, care for each other, and build a more inclusive society through circus arts. We are also active in national and European circus networks, exchanging tools, knowledge and practices with other organisations across Europe.
