Beskrivelse af organisationen
ADRA Czechia is a humanitarian and development organisation established in 1992 and part of the global ADRA network operating in more than 120 countries. In Czechia, ADRA responds to emergencies and natural disasters and strengthens social cohesion through one of the country’s largest volunteer networks. Its regional volunteer centres engage local volunteers in supporting vulnerable groups, including older people, children, and persons with disabilities, while promoting civic engagement and solidarity. Since 2006, ADRA’s Global Education Department has worked with schools, educators, and universities to support active citizenship among young people. Its programmes focus on sustainable development, climate education, human rights, and environmental responsibility, helping young people understand global interconnectedness and contribute to a more equitable world. Internationally, ADRA Czechia focuses on community resilience, livelihoods, WASH, education, and inclusive local development, supporting vulnerable communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, South-East Asia, Latin America, the Balkans, Ukraine, and Moldova. Building upon its long-running national volunteering infrastructure, ADRA Czechia expanded its operations in 2024 and started deploying volunteers via ESC Humanitarian Aid Programme utilizing the ADRA international network and other global partnerships.
