Pupils, VET learners, teachers: go abroad with Erasmus+!
Последно ажурирана на Вторник, 02/04/2024
Spending time abroad while in school is a great opportunity for personal and academic development and will also look good on your CV. Curious about your options? Keep reading.
Check if your school or Vocational Education and Training (VET) institution is participating in Erasmus+. If this is not the case, ask it to participate!
Indeed, the Erasmus+ offers a lot of opportunities:
For school pupils (of any age)
- You can take part in group mobility and visit a partner school with your class in another European country for a period between 2 to 30 days. You will be able to work together on a specific topic and practise foreign languages. Erasmus+ will provide your school with financial support to make this possible for everyone.
- If you feel more confident, you can also benefit from financial support to spend a period abroad to study at a partner school or perform a traineeship at another relevant organisation abroad for a period between 10 days to 1 year. For participants with fewer opportunities, mobility activities can be organised with a minimum duration of 2 days and you can get extra financial support in case you have special needs.
For vocational education learners or apprentices
- Erasmus+ also allows learners in vocational training or apprentices to carry out a learning mobility period abroad in a school, a company or any kind of organisation able to offer them a traineeship. This period abroad can be from 10 days to 1 year. You could also take part in group mobility with other VET learners lasting between 2 to 30 days.
You can also receive funding to participate in VET skills competitions where you can show off your skills competitively. Plus, there's funding available also for support teachers, mentors, or experts to join you on these adventures.
Are you a student in higher education?
- For higher education opportunities please have a look at the other articles available in this section.
- How can your school find partners for your mobility activities?
- The European School Education Platform is an online partner-finding tool. Once schools/organisations are registered they can post their announcements to send or host participants or search directly for partners.
- Training and Cooperation Activities are regularly organised by Erasmus+ National Agencies including contact seminars, online events and other partner-finding opportunities for Erasmus+ applicants and beneficiaries.
- Schools and organisations should stay informed with the Erasmus+ National Agencies, and regularly check their websites to know the different activities and events they organise.
- To get inspired by previously approved projects have a look at the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform. The list of accredited organisations across Programme countries can be found.
For teachers and school staff
- You can benefit from Erasmus+ financial support to travel and stay in another European country either for a teaching assignment for a period between 2 days and 1 year, a course/training event, or a job shadowing for a period between 2 days and 2 months.
- You can visit a partner school with your class in another European country for a period between 2 days and 1 month.
- You can organise virtual cooperation with a colleague or a school located in another country thanks to the eTwinning platform. Teachers can host or join online projects, and create or join groups and learning events. They can engage with their pupils and improve their class learning experience.
- You can combine physical and virtual cooperation. Teachers or schools can use the eTwinning platform to work together on the project before and after the physical mobility period.
How to proceed?
- Check if your school or VET institution is already participating in Erasmus+.
- If not, contact your Erasmus+ National Agency to get more practical information on the way to join the programme.
