Opis

Planet Citizens teaches foreign languages through physical activity in kindergarten and primary schools located in disadvantaged neighbourhoods north of Paris. With our method, APL (Physical and Linguistic Activities), kids learn by moving, playing and speaking. Working with other volunteers and alongside class teachers and educators, you will: 
- prepare and lead active English (or German) sessions for children aged 3 to 11; 
- give children and teenagers a positive first contact with other languages, foreign cultures, European citizenship and international mobility;
- contribute to the development of our pedagogical method and digital tools;
- take part in local community activities (public libraries, neighbourhood and social centres, homework support, holidays camp). 
You will join a team of six European volunteers. 
Mission from 1 March to 31 August 2027.

Nastanitev, prehrana in prevoz

You will share a furnished flat in Saint-Denis with two other European volunteers.The rent is fully covered by Planet Citizens. 
You will receive a monthly public transport pass valid in the whole Paris region, and a bike for short trips
. 467€/month of mission (pocket money and allowance for food and daily costs) + Money to recharge the monthly transportation pass.
Your round‑trip to Paris will be reimbursed based on distance. Extra support available for Green Travel. 
- 100–499 km: 211€ (if 285€ green travel) 
- 500–1999 km: 309€ (if 417€ green travel) 
- 2000–2999 km: 395€ (if 535€ green travel)

Usposabljanje med dejavnostjo

- On-arrival training organised by the French National Agency
- Introduction to our pedagogical method
- Weekly team meeting : session preparation, feedback, evaluation and impact measurement
- Free online language courses (Online Language Support) and French Teacher once every two weeks
- Individual support all along the mission, and help preparing your future individual projects.
- Youthpass certificate.

Profil udeleženca

We welcome young people aged 18 to 30, passionate about teaching kids English through physical activities and games, with good communication skills. 
We are particularly looking for :
- motivated people who want to have a positive social impact on young people;
- physical education graduates, sports coaches and youth workers;
- students in primary education or people with teaching experience, looking for an experience abroad.
 We will also be happy to welcome and support sports enthusiasts who want to help children in disadvantaged areas.
