Project "Learning by to doing - Diaconal Year in Poland 2023/ 2024" is involving volunteers from different countries into structures of social/charity/educational institution. One of them is The Childerens Foundation Ark. The key objective of the Ark Foundation is to improve the children’s living conditions and future prospects. Daily we take care of 25-35 children at the age 6-15, coming from Warsaw’s district of Praga-Północ. We provide them with daily hot meals, support them in doing their homework and invite them to our sports and music events. But, first of all, we offer them our attention and care, foster interpersonal bonds and accompany them in the process of growing up. The volunteer will assist the proffessional educators in their daily work. Will prepare a spare time activities for the group: arts&crafts, sports, games, workshops, presentation of own country; according to the the individual skills the volunteer might propose own project.
Majutus, toitlustus, transport
The volunteer will have a room in the nearby students dormitory. The volunteers will work from Monday till Friday, max 35 hours per week. Weekends are free. There are 18 days of vacations during the activity – 2 per worked month. Christmas and national holidays are free. The volunteer can cook for himself/herself or eat lunch at the hosting organisation canteen. The volunteer will have access to the public transport.
Koolitused tegevuse ajal
Our volunteers will participate in two ESC semianars. They will also attend 3 seminars organised by the coordinating organisation. The essential part of this seminars is the projects evaluation, intercultural education, regional education and support of the volunteers in their "project lifes".
Osaleja profiil
We would like to host volunteers who like spending time with children, that is the one of the most important things. Volunteers also should: have strong sense of responsibility, have creative abilities, be curious and open to new ideas, culture and language.The previous experience in working with children is welcomed but not necessary. Musical skills, art skills and interests in sports would be an advantage. As our profile is sport and health we prefer the volunteer who promotes a healthy life style. For a good communication in the project basic English skills are welcome.
