Avnø Oasis Ecovillage & Residential Learning Center (Avnø Højskole) welcome you to volunteer with us and experience being part of our community, if you are commited to actively contribute to creating a new way of living, rooted in responsibility, regeneration, and collaboration. Avnø suits self-motivated individuals who value: - personal growth - shared purpose - meaningful contribution Avnø is not a finished product, but a living project that grows and changes with the people involved. Most positions require good English skills and a long term commitment. In return, they offer rich possibilities for development of personal, practical, organizational, social and communal skills. We are in particular looking for people who want to practice handyman skills, gardening skills, promotion skills, organizational skills, hosting skills, cleaning skills, kitchen assistants or Holistic Green Chef trainee’s.
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
You will be part of a community of residents, teachers, guests and students. You have a nice room with a private bathroom. The community kitchen serves 3 daily meals made of organic whole grains, beans, seeds & local vegetables and smaller amounts of fermented foods, fruits, nuts, seaweeds, fish, shrimp, and eggs. Vegan is an option. It is possible to be a member of Avnø Carshare. Living in a community can be socially demanding, but it also provides opportunities for personal growth, healing, and deep connections with other people.
Formazione durante l'attività
In the beginning you observe, learn, and do basic tasks. Gradually you take on larger roles and areas of responsibility. The volunteer mentor will support you in finding your right place and is available for support during your stay. In weekly well-being meetings we discuss each person's well-being, community issues as well as roles and responsibilities. During long stays you participate in on-arrival and midterm training.
