The former monastary "Rambin" is looking for two international volunteers for a long-term experience in the topics of cultural, ecological and communal work. The project is supported by people who have decided to live permanently in the municipality of Rambin on the island of Rügen at the Baltic Sea in Germany. We want to preserve, renovate and modernise the listed ensemble - for social and ecological coexistence. Our group includes people from the fields of health, social affairs and science, construction experts, nature and garden experts, as well as business people and the self-employed. We are all socially, civically and politically active in our free time. This volunteering experience is perfect for you if you wish to spend one year on an island in Germany near the Baltic Sea and enjoy the nature and the quiet. We live rurally, however, the city of Stralsund and other destinations (e.g. Hamburg, Berlin) are easy to reach on train.
Ubytování, stravování, doprava
There are several houses on our property, one of which includes a fully equipped flat that will be shared by our two volunteers. You will have your own room, whilst the living room, kitchen and bathroom are shared together. Since all other members of the project live close by, too, there will be a good neighbourly environment. The team also shares a common area and kitchen in the main building. You will receive the normal food allowance and can buy and prepare your own food. We often also cook together, which can be joined. You will receive a monthly ticket for public transport and a bicycle.
Odborná příprava během činnosti
You will have to participate in two seminarweeks organized by the German national agency: the on arrival training and midterm evaluation. Both take place somewhere in Germany, together with other ESC volunteers. Moreover, we - the volunteering initiative Turbina Pomerania - organize additional seminar in Greifswald and the surrounding region for local and international volunteers. You are obliged to participate in these seminars (20 days in total), too. In addition, there will be an online German class with our other volunteers.

We are looking for you if you are passionate about culture and sustainable development. We are not perfect, so you don't have to be perfect either. It is most important that you are willing to dive into a self-organized, team- and solution-oriented, diverse and hierarchy-free team. Most importantly, you must be aware that we live in a very small town.
