The host organization is a small international NGO which was originally founded by two Europeans in Shanghai. In St. Pölten, they have developed 25 different routes in city parks and suburban spaces, which they use as "mobile campus" to drive environmental empathy and systems understanding. You will be involved in a variety of tasks that will combine both outdoor and office-based activities. Outdoors, you will support nature guides, map old trees, and eventually lead outdoor activities once you complete the necessary training. You will also help design new nature programs. In the office, you will create promotional materials like flyers, manage social media accounts, translate educational content into English, design and proof species and concept ID cards, and develop offline games for interactive learning. Your role will allow you to blend creativity with hands-on experience in both nature and administrative tasks.
Majutus, toitlustus, transport
You will be accommodated in a shared apartment together with other international volunteers, in a private room. The flat is equipped with everything you need. Additionally, you will receive a monthly allowance as pocket money, along with a separate allowance as food money (in total around 600€/month). Also, you will receive a transport card. The travel from Italy to Austria and back is fully reimbursed. An insurance company will protect you from any risk.
Koolitused tegevuse ajal
You'll attend 3 official training sessions: a pre-departure one before leaving Italy, an on arrival one a few weeks after your advent in Austria and a third one at around half of your volunteering. The host organization offers training on the job regarding most tasks. You will receive an opportunity to improve your skill set in a team of purpose-driven educators. You’ll be also provided with course of German.
Osaleja profiil
As a perfect candidate, we expect you to have a passion for nature and children, a growth mindset, and digital literacy. This volunteering program is exclusively for young people who have never had the opportunity to experience life abroad!!!! You must have a strong command of the English language, both written and spoken. While no prior training or certificates in nature education are necessary, you will receive the training you need.
