As part of the Solidarity Volunteers project, we invite two individuals to come to Poland to work at Youth Cultural Centre No. 2 in Piekary Śląskie (MDK 2) and two at the Chorzów Cultural Centre for a period of 12 months. The main goal of the project is to promote open dialogue between international volunteers and the local community in order to increase participation, social inclusion, and the engagement of young people in civil society by involving them in local cultural activities with and for youth, including those from marginalized or at-risk groups.
Majutus, toitlustus, transport
Two of the volunteers will live in Bytom, and the other two in Chorzów. Each volunteer will have their own private room. In addition, they will have access to a kitchen, bathrooms, a living room, and a hallway. Volunteers will receive a monthly public transport pass to commute to their workplace. Every month, they will also receive pocket money and a food allowance, which they will use to buy and prepare their own meals.
Koolitused tegevuse ajal
At the beginning of the mobility, they will take part in the on-arrival training about their rights and duties as a volunteer, how to use the mobility period to acquire new skills and develop their competencies. In the middle there is the mid-term training, as a chance to evaluate and reflect on the mobility, improve communication and find out more about post-volunteering opportunities, further work on the acquired competencies and how to use them in their professional and personal life. The organisation provides constant coaching and cultural learning opportunities.
Osaleja profiil
Both the Chorzów Cultural Centre and the Youth Cultural Centre are looking for highly motivated individuals who are not afraid of engaging in community activities aimed at both young people and adults. As part of their tasks, the volunteers will independently design and carry out initiatives targeted at local communities.
