Open Space: a Space for Socio-educational and Therapeutic Care
Fundación para la Atención Integral del Menor
Zaragoza, Španělsko
Popis
FAIM is looking for two ESC volunteers to support socio-educational activities with adolescents and young people in Zaragoza. They will assist qualified staff in supervised group and individual activities, workshops, educational leisure and preparation of materials. Tasks will reflect each volunteer's interests, learning goals and support needs. Volunteers will not replace paid staff or assume therapeutic, safeguarding or sole professional responsibilities. They will share training and complementary activities.
HOW TO APPLY: Apply through the European Solidarity Corps Portal AND complete FAIM's application form: https://forms.gle/juHAFgyseHreufd29
If the link is not clickable, copy and paste it into your browser. Follow the instructions in the form. Only candidates completing both steps by the deadline will enter selection. There is no need to email FAIM to request it. Dates depend on approval of the project extension.
Ubytování, stravování, doprava
Volunteers will live in FAIM's shared accommodation in Zaragoza, in a single bedroom and with shared kitchen-dining room, living room, toilets and showers. The residence is also used by young people participating in FAIM programmes, within an organised coexistence framework. FAIM covers accommodation and utilities and provides the agreed support for food, pocket money and local transport. Travel to and from Zaragoza will be reimbursed within ESC rules and the approved budget. Participants are covered by ESC insurance.
Odborná příprava během činnosti
Volunteers will receive induction, task-specific training and continuous guidance from FAIM professionals, together with regular mentoring and learning reflection. A good practical command of Spanish is required from the start, as the adolescents and young people supported generally do not speak other languages and direct communication is essential. FAIM will support further language development through OLS and daily practice. Official ESC training, team meetings and Youthpass reflection are included in the 30–38-hour weekly schedule.
Profil účastníka
We are looking for two young people aged 18–30 who are motivated to volunteer with adolescents and young people. A good working command of Spanish is required from the start because the people supported generally do not speak other languages. No formal certificate is required, but candidates must be able to communicate independently in everyday situations. No previous professional experience or qualification is required. We value empathy, patience, responsibility, confidentiality, teamwork, willingness to learn and compliance with safeguarding and organisational procedures. Selection will consider motivation, realistic expectations, Spanish communication skills, availability for the full activity and compatibility with the support offered. Candidates must be registered in the European Solidarity Corps and have or obtain a supporting organisation in their country of residence. They must complete both the PASS application and FAIM's application form.
