Popis

Eco-Resilience & Sustainability Programme in Gran Canaria is a European Solidarity Corps volunteering programme focused on environmental protection and sustainability. The programme consists of short-term volunteering team activities carried out in the mountainous areas of Gran Canaria, in an international group setting. Volunteers take part in practical, non-formal learning activities such as environmental clean-ups, biodiversity-supporting nature work, upcycling and creative reuse of materials. The programme also includes sustainability awareness activities, including plant-based lifestyle practices and digital awareness-raising through social media, combined with teamwork and reflection moments.

Ubytování, stravování, doprava

Accommodation is provided in shared housing facilities in the mountainous areas of Gran Canaria. Volunteers stay in shared bedrooms with two or three persons per room, with access to kitchen and sanitary facilities. Food arrangements are organised within a plant-based living context. Volunteers are actively involved in grocery shopping, food preparation and shared meals, including making meals and simple food products such as bread. Warm meals are usually shared. Support staff accompany the group for local transport related to project activities. Public transport is within walking distance.

Odborná příprava během činnosti

During the activity, volunteers receive ongoing training and guidance through non-formal learning methods. Training is integrated into daily practice and includes environmental protection, climate awareness and awareness-raising activities. Volunteers learn about plant-based and low-impact living, reducing consumption, upcycling and reuse, and making simple sustainable solutions. Through teamwork, creative tasks and reflection moments, volunteers learn to slow down, think creatively and develop skills such as cooperation, initiative, problem-solving and personal resilience.
