Join us in Slovenia, one of the most forested countries in Europe. Slovenian forests cover more than a half of the country and represent an essential landscape element. During our Teams Volunteering Project, we will spend some quality time in the forest, situated next to our organic farm. Supported by professional mentors, we will observe it and try to understand the importance of the healthy forest to fight the climate change. Most of the time, we will be working in the forest and next to it, exploring the magic world of WOODCRAFT - learning and practising all sorts of creative ways of how to use the local wood for everyday interventions at the farm. We will be maintaining the undergrowth, collecting brambles and branches, chopping and storing the wood, and transport in to the farm. We will make up some benches to sit, and some doors to be opened. We will also do some maintenance/restoration works at the farm, link to the woodcraft, and some seasonal farming works.
Logi, mat och transporter
You will be accommodated in the gymnasium of the local school. Each participant will be able to use one gymnastics mat as a mattress. Same-sex shared bathrooms will be at your disposal, with 3 showers/toilets for women and 3 for men. Hot water is ensured all the time. The school is 7 minutes walking distance from the ecological farm of Zelena centrala, where all of our activities will be held. The gymnasium and its facilities will be accessible to all participants 24/7 through the entire period. We provide 100% organic and local food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Green travels guaranteed.
Utbildning under verksamheten
AGRI-CULTURE IS THE FUTURE! This opportunity is a great chance to dive into the complex questions of sustainability, self-sufficiency, biodiversity, and climate change and to learn about them through experience and work on a small organic farm, full of creativity, fun and good vibes with enthusiastic and experienced mentors. You can expect mentored observation of the forest, mentored storytelling, and mentored woodcraft: practical work with the different tools, in order to manage the wood for different purposes (chopping, design&construction of the wooden benches, wooden doors, restoration).

We're looking for practical, active, engaged and curious persons, who like to share and live in a community. Are you interested in concrete practices of sustainable living and preservation of nature? The obstacles are only the additional incentives for your creativity, and you are not afraid of physical work outdoors - meaning also adapting to the unpredictable summer weather conditions? You should not be afraid of nature, team work, and of living IN A RURAL PLACE, AWAY FROM THE CITY COMFORTS. The interest for handwork with different tools will be helpful, but previous knowledge is not obligatory or needed.
