The Vocational Rural Center – Rural Family Center (Maison Familiale Rurale - MFR) in Bournezeau (Vendée, France) is a work-study training center.
It currently welcomes 169 young people and offers orientation and vocational training through work-study programs (the young people are in the company every other week) in :
- The 4th and 3rd class of agricultural education in alternated training and apprenticeship
- The 2nd class of Animal Production in alternated training and apprenticeship
- 1st and last class in Professional (vocational) Baccalaureate in Conduct and Management of the Equine Enterprise in alternated training and apprenticeship
- Professional equine groom certification in alternated and apprenticeship (since 2014)
- Certificate of Specialization in Education and work of young equids in alternated training and apprenticeship (since 2017)
- DEJEPS (State Diploma of Youth, Popular Education and Sport) in partnership with “Saumur Action Formation” - Edouard Chauvet by apprenticeship (since 2020)

The “Maison Familiale Rurale of Bournezeau” and all the MFRs are associations. The associative project lives thanks to the board, composed of 9 members representing the families and the professional world, as well as 17 employees: monitors, residential life team, administrative team, etc.
The monitors offer students individualized support in their training and in the creation of their professional and personal project. The “Maison Familiale Rurale” also accompanies them in the discovery of the professional world by sharing its network of internship supervisors located throughout the Grand Ouest (essentially between Normandy and Bordeaux).
In addition to classrooms, the establishment consists of a boarding school for girls, a boarding school for boys (all students are boarders), a computer room, video equipment and a biochemistry laboratory.
Our training center is well anchored in its territory and maintains strong ties with the municipalitý of Bournezeau, which gives it access to the stadiums and the Sport hall of the municipal complex.

The purposes of the association are:
1. to provide the families who are members with the means to exercise their rights and assume their responsibilities, particularly with regard to the education, orientation and general, moral and social vocational training of the children attending the training center “Maison Familiale Rurale” .
2. to assume the creation, management and legal, moral and financial responsibility of the Rural Family Centre.
3. to participate in the animation and development of the environment in which the Rural Family House is located and to assume all activities of popular education as well as all actions of an educational, social or family nature. Therefore, the MFR of Bournezeau has given itself the mission to launch a dynamic of European opening on its territory, in order to contribute to reinforce the feeling of European citizenship of the community (internal and external to the MFR).

More specifically, the MFR of Bournezeau is committed to a process of hosting a volunteer within the framework of the European Solidarity Corps with a long-term vision in order to participate in the development of the feeling of European citizenship and to give more visibility to Europe on the rural territory of Bournezeau.

Through this project, the objective for the young people enrolled at the MFR is to learn to accept differences, to become accustomed to intercultural communication, and to become aware of the opportunities for European mobilitý and the benefits of the latter in the course of a young person. In addition, the objective for the young person of the ESC hosted is to develop a sense of collective life and commitment to solidarity, to refine his or her professional project through active missions, to develop intercultural and linguistic skills and to promote these skills among young people.
