Latvian Fund for Nature is an NGO that focuses on preserving biological diversity in Latvia. To achieve this, the LFN is engaged in practical activities to preserve the environment and to educate society about the importance of biological diversity.
To achieve this mission in the long-term perspective, the LFN carries out activities in five program directions:
Nature conservation policy to promote the integration of environmental protection and nature conservation concerns in the legislation of Latvia, support the creation of local and national NGOs and promote collaboration among NGOs.
Educating society about environmental protection, nature conservation, and sustainable development issues.
Activities regarding biological diversity and ecosystems to maintain biological diversity in forests, the agro-environment, the coastline, mires, and freshwaters, as well as to involve society in these activities and shaping society’s opinion regarding the impact of different economic activities on the environment.
Carried out activities regarding protected species and habitats that help to maintain favorable conservation status for endangered species and habitats and also involving society in these activities.
Planning and management of specially protected nature areas as well as involving society in these activities.
Zaměření v rámci začleňování
Tato organizace je ochotná přijmout pro různé typy projektů dobrovolníky, kteří se nacházejí v situaci, která jim účast na dobrovolnických aktivitách komplikuje, a to z následujících kategorií:
- Kulturní odlišnosti
- Překážky ekonomického charakteru
- Překážky sociálního charakteru
- Tato organizace získala značku kvality Evropského sboru solidarity. Značka kvality potvrzuje, že organizace je schopna realizovat projekty v souladu se zásadami a cíli Evropského sboru solidarity.
