Organisatsiooni kirjeldus:

Young journalists and community workers of Debrecen and Hajdú-Bihar County founded the Sound-Picture Association (Hang-Kép Egyesület) in 2000. It is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation with members of different professions but mainly journalists, teachers, trainers, artists and people working with audio and visual communication materials. Our association is training young people and NGO workers to prepare media content, we run regular media awareness trainings and camps, where younger people (age 13 to 35) learn how to think outside of the box when it comes to the use of technology in spreading news, innovation, and ideas within their communities. We show them the basics of journalism, enhance critical thinking of the world, and teach the mechanisms of democracy while increasing their media literacy and media consciousness. We organise trainings, camps, local and international programs where disadvantaged groups of youngsters and NGO representatives get the possibility to improve their communication skills in order to find a better job or to address the stakeholders in a more effective way to achieve their goals. Besides these the association helps many local and regional NGOs with information campaigns (newsletters, web design, information materials, photos, etc.) and trainings to publish their programs to their target groups in the most effective way. We work with 3 full-time employees, around 10 external experts usually contracted for specific tasks and around 20 local volunteers at the association.
