The Town and County Library in Kwidzyn is a cultural institution run by the Town Hall in Kwidzyn. The goal of the library is to create a modern unit, close to all residents. The primary goal is to meet the cultural, educational and information needs of the residents. The mission is to support the development of the community of the Kwidzyn district by maintaining the function of a generally accessible, modern public library, providing all users with equal opportunities to conveniently use information resources, disseminating knowledge, integrating the local community, supporting residents in their cultural, educational and civic activities.
We want to be a modern center of information, culture and activity, sensitive to the needs of recipients. In addition to the main task of borrowing books, we carry out other tasks in the field of culture - we enable residents to pursue their passions, we give them the opportunity to contact others. We are a platform for the exchange of views and experiences. We lecture on various subjects: from genetics and cardiology, through art history, film and literature, to ecology and tourism and cosmetology. We organize workshops, some cyclically every week, others once. We organize meetings with authors of books, with various types of professionals, with reconstructors of old crafts. We work with other libraries, schools, associations, institutions and companies. The target group for the activities is very wide: from children, through youth, to adults and seniors. From September 2018, we have a modern learning and play center in our Multicentrum offer. The users of the center are digitally supported through the use of modern educational modules. There are thematic classes for children and adolescents in such fields of science as chemistry and physics. In the Robotics and Architecture Room there are classes on programming and creative use of a set of various types of blocks.
