Organisatsiooni kirjeldus:

Diocesan Charity České Budějovice (further simply DCHCB) provides support, coordination and methodical assistance to
18 local Charities (we call them „parish, town and district charities“) in the whole of the Diocese of České Budějovice in
order to enable the charities to run their own social and health care services in the best conditions possible. The Centre of
DCHCB also provides its own social services and participates in other projects in the Diocese of České Budějovice as
well as abroad.

DCHCB is a member of the association called „The Charity Czech Republic“ - thanks to its network of Charites throughout
the country it is the largest NGO in the Czech Republic.

The mission of DCHCB is to provide help to all people in need without any distinctions. The volunteers can work with various target groups: 1) seniors and disabled (in Veselí nad Lužnicí - Dům sv. Františka), 2) homeless people (in České Budějovice), 3) chidren/youth (in České Budějovice). It depends on the volunteers preferences and needs. We expect the volunteer to spend 30 hours/per week working with the target groups, preparing on activities and with the project agenda (education, evaluation, communication with mentor...). We expect the volunteer's participation from Monday to Friday from 8 - 15 (with one hour lunch brake). The volunteers in activities lasting up to 2 months will be invited from June to September, the volunteers in activities lasting 2 months and more will be accepted any time during the year.

The city of České Budějovice is 150 km far from Prague and it is accessible by train or bus (2,5 hours by public transport from Prague). It is a nice place for living. We expect that the volunteer stays with some hosting family in case that he or she prefers working in České Budějovice, or stays at the vicarage in case that he/she prefers working with seniors/disabled people. The town Veselí nad Lužnicí is situated in countryside 26 km far from České Budějovice.

Through its social services DCHCB works with different target groups:
1) Dům sv. Františka (The Shelter of st. Francis) – housing for people with psysical disabilities (target group: persons over
30 years of age who have decreased self-support because of physical, mental or combined disorders and their health

the Czech Republic with relationships to foreigners who have found themselves in an unfortunate situation,
