LATVIAN FIRST AID UNIT (LATVIJAS PIRMĀS PALĪDZĪBAS VIENĪBA), established in 2001, is a non-governmental organisation based in Latvia that aims to facilitate and support personality development, education of children and adults, furtherance of health and meaningful free time organisation. We work in 3 main directions:1.Charity and providing help; 2.First aid, training and patient transport; 3.Contentful leisure activities. We are driven to support and encourage our communities, since 2015 we are a partner organisation for European Social Fund Plus program operating in Liepaja and South Kurzeme region, each year distributing over 25000 food packages and over 25500 warm meals. Our organisation is proud to be working with all age groups. Most of our target audience is living under the poverty line. We organise small, medium and large-scale events, activities, camps, youth exchanges and volunteer opportunities, encouraging to participate regardless of age, disability or social status. Every year we organise first aid competitions and training for aprox. 900 persons. Implement projects to promote citizens' health, first aid training days in educational institutions and training municipality employees in first aid. We are keen to have sustainable working environment, expand and improve our activities, and grow our local and international volunteer base. We have qualified team members, locations in Liepaja and Rude, and we are equipped with medical transport and assistive devices.
