Organisatsiooni kirjeldus:

Nestled in the Aries Valley in the Carpathian Mountains, lies the small community of Posaga. This secluded area, surrounded by nearly untouched landscapes, is where the Dupa Gard Project began in 2015, founded within the NGO called JJ FILMS & CULTURE, which has been operating since 2010.

Our two main fields of engagement:

1) Local community
Our main aim right now is to bring the community closer together. We want to create “third spaces”, where the locals could meet and build a community spirit, which is now missing. Besides that, we aim to open new opportunities for local young people and offer a helping hand to the elderly.

2) Young people outside of the local community (from abroad)
By hosting international volunteers, we aim to educate young people about sustainability, permaculture, healthy living and active citizenship, give them practical hands-on experience, empower them to work with these topics in their home communities and open new career and life paths and opportunities for them.

To reach these aims, Dupa Gard is providing various educational, social and cultural opportunities for local people in the village, which we want to develop further in the next few years.
We have been hosting international volunteers for 3 years already, in order to provide learning opportunities to youth from different countries and also to make the local community more open to different cultures and lifestyles.
